Combination Packages

Some editing services can be combined in one round of editing, meaning that the manuscript is returned with both edits applied. However, due to the big-picture nature of a developmental edit or manuscript review, I do not offer line or copy editing services in the same round of editing. With a structural edit, large sections of text may be rewritten, introduced, or removed. Corrections on the sentence-level may be obsolete and new errors introduced that without a follow-up edit will make it to publication.

For that reason, I will do sentence-level corrections only after the story structure has been finalized. In that case, I will return the manuscript to you for large-scale structural changes, and upon receiving the revised version back, I will then perform the sentence-level corrections.

Line and copy editing can be done in the same round. I will read the manuscript two and half times. However, optimal results come from keeping the services as separate rounds, each round receiving two and half passes over the manuscript.
